I RAN my first 5k. It was hot and humid first thing this am, but I made it!! All of the proceeds went to cancer research. My time was 38 min, although my goal was around 32. On the treadmill I have done it in 32, but outside is allot different :) Oh well something to work for.

We are sad to share the news of the loss of our nephew Luke Arthur Campbell. He was born to Holli (Bowman) and Chris Campbell on 3/6/10. He was perfect in everyway, 7 lbs, 11 oz. and 21 inced long. He was never able to take his first breath, and will be dearly missed by all. Please keep his parents, grandparents, aunt and uncles, and cousins who will never be able to share in his life, in your prayers. We will say our goodbyes to him at a family funeral on Saturday in Denver, CO. I do not understand God's purpose for this loss right now. Please pray for our peace in knowing that he is with Jesus.

This is something that I struggle with. Being thankful in all of the situations that Christ may present is quite the challenge. I am trying to focus on this verse this week, and allow God to transform me into being content with what he has given me.

Being content with ones house, car, clothes, money and even spouse may seem like a easy task, but I find myself struggling every day. Even the little things....It is so easy to think "Nancy Drew's husband bought her flowers...I wish my husband would do that more" I think that this is an example of not being content. I need to remember that everything is a gift, and we so easily take it all for granted.

While shopping for some nail polish remover, I stumbled upon a bottle of jewelry cleaner. As I picked it up and tossed it into my cart, I reflected on the days when I always kept jewelry cleaner so that I could keep my wedding ring sparkling and shiny. Somewhere in the rush of life, I stopped doing that, and it had been years since I polished up my very dirty, dingy diamond. When I got home, I cracked open the new bottle and put my rings in to soak overnight. The next morning, I fished them out and used the little brush to scrub away any remaining dirt. As I slipped the rings on, I couldn't believe the difference! I knew my rings were dirty but I had no idea how sparkling the cleaner would make them. All day I kept looking down at my hand to admire the way the diamond reflected the light, brilliant and shiny instead of dirty and dingy. God reminded me that my experience was a great illustration for how I have treated my marriage at times. Where once I worked hard to look nice for my husband, I often meet him after a long day in my pajamas—unshowered and unprepared to welcome him. Where once I took time to really listen to him, I let my thoughts wander when he talks, figuring I had heard it all before. Where once I looked forward to our time alone, I get in the car with a bored sigh, and a, "Where do you want to eat?" My shiny, sparkly, exciting marriage that I couldn't wait for had turned into a dirty, dingy drudgery that I forgot to take care of. As I admired my diamond that day, I thought of ways I could "clean" my marriage, restoring it to the brilliance that God desired for us:

• Taking time to at least brush my hair and put some gloss on my lipsbefore I saw my husband at the end of the day.
• Committing to regular exercise and taking care of myself, so I would feel better and look better.
• Treating him respectfully and watching both my words and my tone to him.
• Apologizing when I blow it and humbly seeking his forgiveness.
• Investing regular, consistent time into us by making the effort to plan date nights and secure a sitter.
• Really listening to him when he confides in me, not letting my thoughtswander to my to-do list.
• Spending time with him without feeling like we have to talk all the time.
• Respecting the differences in each of us, instead of fighting against them.

Of course I don't do these things perfectly every day, but I do have a renewed vision for what my marriage needs. Just like my diamond needed to be restored after neglect, so did my marriage. I can't become complacent or despondent about this most important relationship. I have to strip off the buildup of stress and busyness, scrub away any resentment or distance. When I do that, God has shown me that He will restore my marriage to its original brilliance and sparkle, reminding us both why we said "I do" all those years ago.

Sorry it has been so long, our computer is not working correctly, and I am now using a friends. The boys are getting big, and school is done for the year so the summer days have begun. We will be in MI, in two weeks, and the Kids and I will be there for 2 weeks(Troy will be there just for the weekend). I am so unsure of what i am feeling these days, is it the winter blues, homesickness, or just frustration that I am picking up the same toys and vacuuming the same carpet over and over again? Is this just the mundane same-ness of being a at home mom? Sometimes at the end of the day i think .....why is it that at 9:00 in the morning my patience seems to be all but gone.

Am i grieving that this will be my last baby, my last nursing child?

I feel like I am drowning, in laundry, making dinner, cleaning, and toys.

Is this what God has planned for my life...is this his purpose for me.....and that fact that I am asking it..should I be worried?

Am I feeling old due to an upcoming birthday?

Lord, Please help me to feel your purpose for my life, and feel like I am worthy to be called one of your children.

Do you have a favorite Bible character? One who inspires you, challenges you or one whose story you simply love? Perhaps it is Moses and his vast leadership skills. How about Esther, the compelling queen who, being both gorgeous and smart, used her quick thinking to help God save an entire nation? Maybe Joseph is your pick as you contemplate how someone so mistreated could continually take the high road; the road that lead him not only to political power but also to family forgiveness. All of these are marvelous choices, but none are my pick. I like Enoch.Since first hearing of Enoch as a young teen, that guy has fascinated me. Not a lot is writt en about him in the pages of scripture, but what is there sure piques my interest. He "walked with God and then he was no more because God took him away." Hmmm. My young mind pondered that strange description.As I grew as a believer, I learned a bit more about this biblical mystery man. In Hebrews 11:5-6 we catch more of the story. "By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (NIV)Ah ha! Enoch was whisked away, spared the pain of death and transported immediately to God's side all because of one simple thing. He pleased God. I say simple. But I don't say easy. It is a simple thing to please God. You just do what He says in His word. Straightforward enough, right? However, my years as a follower of Christ have taught me that simple is not always easy. Choices present themselves. The world screams. Our flesh gets in the way. We want revenge or our own glory. We lack faith and instead try to control our own destinies. We mess up the "pleasin' God" part with our very own hands.Enoch "walked with God." Oh, don't we long for that to be said of us? I'll admit I don't always walk with God. I take a stand for God; believe the right things and make it known. I may walk after God. And sadly, sometimes I run ahead of God; make my own plans and then say, "Oh yeah. By the way God, do ya mind blessin' these plans? I made them in Your name. I may have forgotten to consult You in the midst of them, but they are for You all right!" What a shame and a sham!No two ways about it, walking with God means that we daily give up our right to navigate our own lives. We pla ce our faith in Him, admitting He knows what is best for us and realizing He might not always reveal the hows and the whys until the very last second. Remember, God is seldom early, but never late. Only day-by-day faith-walking pleases God.Oh, dear one, do you long to be one who pleases God this way? One who makes Him smile as He sees you daily place complete trust in Him and His infinite wisdom? Maybe then we just might be like my Bible hero Enoch; the one who walked so closely by our Creator's side that one day, during one of those long walks, God looked at him and said, "You know, we've been walking together for so long now that we are actually closer to my house than yours. Why don't you just come on home with me right now?" Glory!!!Dear Lord, I am ready to learn to walk with You in faith; not ahead of You or behind You, but right by Your side. Show me how, step by step. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

5 YEARS

5 years ago today, I left my parents home and married my best friend. He is my lover, my confidant, and is a wonderful father and husband. I thank God every day for the person that he has given to me, for a time on this earth. We never know how long we have together, so we should live every day like it our last.

What has happened in five years? Five moves, one 750 miles away from the home that we have both known. Two wonderful children that God has blessed us with. 8 or 9 kidney stones- I had a hard time remembering, must have been the morphine :) Multiple job changes for both of us and one of us deciding to stay home with the boys, which could have brought on financial strains but didn't. (Thank God for Dave Ramsey) The purchase of a business, the sale of a business. The purchase of a home. Five years of love and support from all of our parents, who we are truly grateful for. And nothing but love and respect from each other. God has richly blessed us in ways we could have never imagined.

No matter what comes our way, we know that if we center our marriage on Christ, there is nothing that we can not overcome, nothing. I love you Troy.

Now, I know that it is not farmers appreciation day but....Have you ever really considered the consequences of farms going out of business?

Farming is not always the most lucrative business, and it is very hard work with very long hours. Next time you see a Farmer, maybe you can say thank you. This time before Thanksgiving we need to remember that we are so blessed to live in the Country with the safest food supply.

Today is World Hunger Sunday, and Pastor Aaron, talked about some "food for thought". Did you know that Americans consume 100 billion dollars worth of bottled water in one year. The nation that had the most readily available clean water source, spends that amount of money on something that comes so easy and free to them. Besides the environmental impact, you may say "so". Every 7 seconds a child dies from a water born illness. Do you know how much money it would take to put wells in areas that don't have them and allow every child in the world to have access to clean drinking water? 50 Billion dollars. Half of what we as Americans spend in one year.

Isaiah 58:10 says "and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then you light will rise in the darkness and your night will become like noonday."

Lets all think of ways that we can help in our own community to make this world, God's world a better place.

We are a country that prides itself on power and wealth, yet there are millions of children who go hungry every day. It is our responsibility, not only as a nation, but also as individuals, to get involved. So, next time you pass someone on the street who is in need, remember how lucky you are, and don't turn away.-- Lesley Boone

So on Sunday we had 50 mph wind, and with all of that wind came leaves, and lots of them. We had so many leaves...I had no idea what to do with them all. (when we lived in the country I raked them into the field) Plus with Troy working so many hours during harvest, I did not know how I was gonna haul them away. Until my neighbors saw me contemplating my options..which were not many :) They were so kind to come over and help me load the leaves, and then he hauled them away for me. It was so so kind. So the moral of the story is thank God for kind neighbors.

Lori is going into surgery to get her appendix out. They have stopped the bleeding (due to the labor) and have ruled out everything else. The consant pain is coming from her appendix. So at least they know what is causing the pain. Please continue to pray for her surgery and for Brayden, who had lost a pound since birth. Thank You.

Checkups

Both of the Boys had their Check ups today with their new Doctor. Zach weighs 37 # and is 41 inches tall. Ben on the other hand is 19#, and 27 inches tall. I'm not sure if it was a good sign or a bad, when the doctor looked at me with pity in his eyes, and said "Wow, you have your hands full, don't you!" I wanted to say Yea, thanks...God never gives us more than we can handle, right? anyways.. have a great day!!

I saw your comments on Fox News today and described in the Detroit Free Press article below. I wholeheartedly agree with you that the decision by the McCain campaign to pull out of Michigan was the wrong decision.
We have all been wrong at times, and I think this is a decision that will be corrected in a couple of weeks. We were ahead three points as of a week ago according to MRG, a polling firm that I trust more than any national pollster.
I talked to Michigan Republicans and McCain supporters on a conference call last night and they vowed to redouble their efforts. Indeed, there will still be a campaign for John McCain in Michigan whether it is sanctioned by the professionals in Washington DC or not.
Senator McCain has great appeal to Michigan voters dating back to his 2000 campaign. He is a Maverick, independent-minded leader who has bipartisan appeal to the voters of our state. He is the perfect Presidential candidate for Michigan.
I also strongly believe that you are the best possible Vice Presidential choice for Michigan. You kicked Joe Biden's butt in the debate yesterday by showing your blue collar appeal and highlighting why Senator McCain's plans for tax cuts, increased energy supply, and strong foreign policy are what is needed for our country's future. We also know that Obama's tax increases, $1 trillion spending promises, and willingness to befriend dangerous rouge leaders is not the right prescription for our problems.
Democrats have failed the workers of Michigan. Michigan voters know that when Jennifer Granholm increased taxes it cost Michigan jobs. Michigan voters know when Kwame Kilpatrick promised new leadership for Detroit it led to failure. Most importantly, Michigan voters know that Barack Obama's association with Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko, and other questionable individuals had important roles in developing his worldview that is dangerous for our future.

Zach is getting so big, his first day of school was tuesday and he loved it! We are so thankful for how this transition has gone with the kids!! This is not an easy thing. Although, I have to admit..It was great having my parents here for a week. They leave tomorrow. *tear* We'll see how I feel when they are gone =)

So, Here I am at the Sioux Center library...until our internet gets hooked up...and enjoying life. Everything with God's hand and blessings has gone amazing. Our house is so perfect, and we love it here so far. Although we miss all of our family and friends, my parents are here until Saturday. Hopefully our internet will be hooked up soon.

As you can imagine, we have been extremely busy with packing and lots of paperwork. At last the business is sold (YEA) and we are on to everyday stuff. Sorry that it took so long to get back on here. Although we will be gone for a week up north with my family, and we are closing on the house on the 25th, this may be the last post until we get settled in Iowa after the 7th. We are so grateful and thankful for all that have kept us on their prayer list so diligently. It really shows when you have prayer and blessing behind the decisions that you are making. Keep up the prayers as the next 2.5 weeks will be interesting. Thanks Again, with all of our love...The Bowmans

At Last.

Well our trip was very successful. Here is our big news!! Troy got a wonderful job. He will be managing a custom manure and nutrient program for a 2500 acre farm. He will also be doing GPS and soil sampling. As well as this he will be planting and helping with harvest. How blessed we are to be able to care for God's land, a resource so many take for granted.

In other news, we bought a house!!! It is perfect. Although the inside is 70's decor, everything looks brand new. It is 2 blocks down from the Christan School, and the back yard is gorgeous and large. Also, there are no houses behind us, our backyard backs up to a church and church parking lot. We are very excited.

Thank you for all of the prayer.....It was definitely God's hand as smooth as all of this went.

So, in case you have never been to Iowa.....It is the most beautiful place on earth. Well, that is if you're a farmer. I said to Troy It is the place of corn and dreams, and he quickly corrected me by saying the place of corn and beans. hehe..Anyways on the the matter at hand. God has blessed us by creating these places that remind us to stop and look around at all of His greatest creations. This is one of those places. There are corn fields everywhere, and it is so Agriculture friendly. "Farming is everyone's bread and butter" is a quote that hangs above a local restaurant here. God is amazing and he is leading us to where he want us. I will try to keep updating as much as possible. Keep up the Prayers, we can feel them!!!

Life's "Storms"

A local pastor talked about Life's Storms. He said life is made up of "storms" everyone is either approaching their next storm, currently in a storm or just getting out of a storm. I would like to think that we are slowly making it out of our current storm. Although I know of those whose storms are much more damaging than ours.....leaving the family business is the best and hardest thing that we have ever had to do, as well as leaving our family to make a new home in a new place. This is.....difficult. The emotions cannot help but pour out of me as I am typing this. Tomorrow we leave to search for a new job, and a new home. I have never been more than a 1.5 hours from my parents...my best friends. I now look to the future of being 12 hours away.

I know that I am moving with my Best friend, and that on December 27, 2003 I vowed to go anywhere with him, he is my life, my love and my future.

Please keep us in your prayers.

Iowa or Bust...

We are traveling to Iowa next Tuesday (7-22) and we will be returning on Monday (7-28). Please keep us in your prayers as Troy has interviews set up and we will be house hunting. This is a very exciting time in our lives!! And for those who know Troy say an extra prayer for him, this is a very busy time on the farm, and he will have a hard time leaving, even for a week. I try to remind him, that sometimes you need to let go for a little bit, to enable yourself to focus on the future.

As we look ahead to this move, we may be changing some things in our lives. The last day that I need to do the Bookwork for the farm is July 10Th. So We might cancel our home phone and Internet, until we get moved and settled in our new home and continue to use our cell phones. We'll let you know as soon as we have decided.

Ok, so I am having surgery on Wednesday June, 25th to remove the Large Kidney Stone. Please keep us in your prayers as Ben will be adjusting to formula for a few days, and that the recovery is quick. It sounds like barring to complications, I will be home Wednesday night. God Bless.

This past weekend has been a whirlwind. I was back in the hospital due to another Kidney stone, this one which is still with me, is 8 mm is size. Doctors usually say anything over 5 mm is too large to be passed normally, but we will see. Please pray for me during this time. When it is not moving it does not hurt, but as soon as it starts to move it causes great pain. I could be anywhere when this starts to move. Pray that I am somewhere, where I can get home ASAP. God's Timing is perfect, I just need to remind myself of that.

So we finally have a timeline when it comes to the "move." Although we do not know where yet, we are just walking by faith, we do know that things will be wrapped up here by the end of August. So we will be moving hopefully by the middle of September. To where....Good Question. Our top choices, the Heartland of America, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, pretty much anywhere where farming is a priority. Please keep us in your prayers are we make this transition and troy begins the job search. We ask that God will lead us to a farm where the owner shares our passion to follow Him.

The Doctors now think that Ben had reflux, and colic, (yea) so he is still not sleeping real well, and he is very fussy. We are going to take him off the Zantac, (due to the constipation) and trying a all natural product called "Colic Calm" There are a ton of testimonies about using it with babies that suffer from reflux, and colic. We'll let you know...

okay, last night was terrible. Ben was up from 1am unitl 6:30am when Troy took over. He then let me sleep two hours before going to work. He was consipated and had not pooped for 7 days!! This cannot be a reflux thing, but it is a side effect of Zantac. So we are heading back to the doctor today at 4:00 pm. P.S. When it rains it pours, Zach came and told me that his belly hurts and I picked him up, and he felt very warm, I took his temp and it was 101.02. YEA!! Say a extra prayer for us, Thanks!!

Fruit of the Spirit

People always say that Patience is a virtue. Well, I think when God was creating me, he forgot to add that into the mix. No, but really I (and if you know me well you're laughing right now) I have a hard time being patient. Troy always is reminding me to try to be patient, well easier said than done. I am having a hard time right now with not knowing where we are going as well as having no idea what the time frame is for the move. Please pray for us to be given extra patience during this time that is taking our utmost faith.

Proverbs 31

While listening to Dr. Dobson, this morning at 5:oo am, while nursing Ben (why else would I be up at that time!!) he talked about Proverbs 31. This makes me feel like we as women in this day and time (myself included) really fall short of who God desired for us to be. A real companion to our Husbands. How many times do you get together with Girlfriends, and hear constant complaints about their Husbands?
Proverbs 31: 10-31 says , 10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls. 16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. 18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. 19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. 20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. 21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. 22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. 31 Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. I desire all of these qualities, but most of all, I want to concentrate on 30-31. "A women who fears the Lord is to be praised..." I want to be that woman. I want to be surrounded by women that that!!! So next time were sitting around drinking coffee, and you hear the complaints, take a second to thank God for the companion that he has given you, and for the road map that he has laid out for our lives in his word.

Long time coming...

Well, it's been a while since I have had any time to blog =( We have been extremely busy, and I have been especially tired. Having Two kids is a whole new level of exhaustion, especially when one is not sleeping well at all. I finally took Ben to the Doctor yesterday. He was spitting up after every feeding, and not sleeping well, and his cry sounds horse. I knew that there was something wrong. So...the Diagnosis is that Benjamin has reflux. So, they put him on Zantac Liquid, which will start to help in 7-10 days. Pray for healing in a fast manner. God Bless

As most of you know, with patience and prayers, Troy and I have made the decision that if we want to continue to be a direct and active participant in agriculture, that this is no longer the area for us. With our families blessings, we have decided to move west, and begin a new chapter in our lives. I have family in Iowa, and we really like (love) that area of the country. It really is beautiful out there. As for now, the details are not in place as of yet, but we know that God will lead us to where our new home will be, he will lead Troy to a new and wonderful opportunity, and He will lead us to a new Church family. Although leaving our families, and friends here in MI is going to be difficult, especially with the new addition, we know that this is the right path for us. We ask for your continued prayers during this time of transition, for it may be 6-12 months before this may happen.

Okay, so there is only so much sanity when it is March, and temps are cold, and the kids are driving you crazy. Take them to the local playland. Along with Kim, and Tanya, we took all of the kids to Centerpoint yesterday. (4 kids and a baby) Although it was also nice for some mom talk, the kids really enjoyed themselves too. The best part was when we walked into Fridays for Lunch, and told the hostess that we had seven people, plus a baby and we needed one booster seat. She looked at us....and stated "How Many" "Sorry it's early" Kim then turned to me and said, "remember when 11:30 was eary!!" Oh, the days! Oh, buy the way did I mention that we only have 3 days (not counting today) unitil the baby is born! YEA!!
